About Revival Fitness Collective
Revival Fitness Collective is the decade-in-the-making project of co-owners Jaclyn DeMiro and Anthony Vazquez, two coaches who spent years working in and around fitness before building a gym of their own. DeMiro is a former competitive gymnast and elite CrossFit athlete with podium finishes across major international competitions. Vazquez is a five-time CrossFit Regionals athlete who went on to qualify for the CrossFit Games and has coached across the East Coast for years. They always talked about opening a gym, but it wasn’t until they moved away from competitive performance and toward longevity-focused training that they felt they had the right identity for Revival's brand.
West Ashley isn't the flashiest corridor in Charleston's fitness market, but it's a neighborhood with density and a community that responds to substance over spectacle. Revival fits that with a small, open space in a strip center, removed of the aesthetic trappings of the boutique fitness boom and aligned with functional fitness you can do until your ninety years old.
What They Do Best
Revival's core offering is hybrid training: classes that blend functional strength work with conditioning, built to develop what their programming philosophy calls "athleticism, resilience, and longevity." The schedule runs group training sessions throughout the week, structured around intentional programming cycles. Each class has a strength component, a metabolic conditioning piece, and natural, cycled progression week-to-week. Rather than a ‘workout-of-the-day’ model, the programming is designed to accumulate over time.
Beyond the training floor, Revival Runs extends the brand into the community through weekly outdoor run club meetups, open to all paces, with rotating routes. It's a low-barrier entry point and a community-building mechanism that connects new people to the gym and extends their reach to runners who may need an extra push to get that strength training in.
The Experience
First timers will require some self-advocacy. The front desk area is separated from the gym floor by a small shelving partition, and on a given visit there may be no one stationed there. The coach and members are already on the floor which is not immediately visible to someone coming through the door. But once contact is made, the coach is attentive, the intake process is handled efficiently, and the warmth is immediate.
The class is in CrossFit-adjacent territory but without the ego or the chaos that sometimes comes with it. Movements are technical, loads are scaled, and the coaching cues are specific. You get coach-to-member attention to ensure proper form throughout, consistent with what you'd expect from two people who've performed at a high level for a long time. Modifications are offered and often encouraged. The space is functional and clean. Not luxury, but well-maintained and purpose-built for class flow. Post-session, the feeling is earned-tired, not wrecked like some hybrid experiences, which speaks to the care that goes into the longevity messaging the studio was founded on.
What Makes Them Special
Competitive-level programming credentials: Both owners hold elite-level competition histories that directly inform how workouts are designed, not just how they're coached.
Revival Runs community layer: A pace-agnostic weekly run club extends the studio's community beyond the gym walls with no membership requirement to participate.
Small-class coaching density: The studio's size means coach-to-member ratios stay high, and regulars are known by name and movement history.
Why We Love It
Revival is what happens when two people with serious athletic resumes stop chasing competitive goals and build something for the everyday athletes. The founding vision of longevity is built into the programming of every class so progression is prioritized over how hard or heavy can you go. Jaclyn and Anthony have done that, and they understand the demands of the body in a way only international competitors can. This is why their purpose is functional fitness for long-term strength, not burn yourself out and hope for the best. Longevity over intensity is what regulars feel in every session and why they stay.
