Strategic Planning Focused on Membership Growth for Mixed Martial Arts & Yoga Studio Space

The Challenge

USMMA has a very loyal following but wasn’t seeing the growth in new memberships that they would like. With goals of nearly doubling memberships, they needed a marketing strategy to help them get there. We also found that their messaging wasn’t always clear; they needed to truly define their brand within the market.

 

The Strategy

We created an 8-week consulting agenda that addressed all of the issues within the business from the low conversions on their KPIs to their website traffic, email marketing and staff management. We addressed their pricing model so that it reflected their desire to build memberships over drop-ins. We created a robust email marketing strategy that focused on nurturing leads and capturing lost clients (from the pandemic). Ultimately, the goal was to bring a cohesive message to all of their marketing/pricing and to align their staff members with their overall mission. We implemented their new email marketing with cohesive messaging and clear CTAs, and combined the new marketing efforts with digital advertising.

 

The Result

Immediately they saw an uptick in class passes as well as more interest in their membership program. Overtime, the email marketing communication increased their conversion rate and decreased the rate of lost clients. We are now seeing the intro offer retention rate hovering around 80%, 23% of those being membership purchases.
