About Move Madly
Move Madly is the brainchild of Kylie Transki, a San Diego fitness instructor who achieved her Lagree certification in 2021 as a way to cope with pandemic-era isolation. Falling in love with the modality, she started instructing full-time. She started having a clear vision of what a studio could be when built around warmth, energy, and belonging. Instead of looking outside to find it, Kylie realized she needed to build it herself. In early 2023, she took the leap.
The result is Move Madly, Encinitas' first dedicated Lagree studio, tucked into the Lumberyard Shopping Center on S. Coast Hwy 101 on a stretch of Downtown Encinitas that mixes surf shops with wine bars. The location is walkable, the signage is clean, and the studio's neon pink and black interior reads as intentional rather than trendy. Since opening, the concept has expanded to a second location on Garnet Ave. in Pacific Beach, which opened in 2026.
The community response has been measurable: Move Madly was recognized as Community Choice: Favorite Studio in the 2025 Mariana Tek Studio Awards, earned by member votes across the platform's entire studio network. For a studio that’s just two-years-old studio, it’s a community-first hub of boutique fitness.
What They Do Best
Move Madly runs a tight menu: Move Full Body is the anchor featuring 45 minutes moving sequentially through the major muscle groups, modifiable for all levels. Legs & Abs zeroes in on lower body and core, while Arms & Abs focuses on upper body and core, and both serve as compliments to the full body format. For members training three or four times a week, they're the logical add-on that lets you stack volume without repeating a full-body session on back-to-back days. Move 101 rounds out the menu as a dedicated full-body basics format for Megaformer newcomers.
The Experience
From the outside, Move Madly's Pacific Beach location is an eye-catching, aesthetic-first space, but step inside and the assumption corrects itself quickly. The space is clean, the machines are fresh, and the dim lighting with a solid playlist creates an atmosphere that feels welcoming.
The Move Full Body class hits all the right places with sequencing that moves through major muscle groups logically. It’s easy to follow even if you're in for the first time: legs into core into upper body then back around for the other side. Instruction is youthful but clearly not lacking in experience, and the hands-on adjustments are there to enhance rather than correct. There is a clear sense in the sequencing that someone thought carefully about how each class is built, and it’s an ethos the instructors embody. There’s a feeling that no matter the class and instructor, you’re going to get a great experience because they all embody the Move Madly vision.
What Makes Them Special
Handwritten New Client Welcome: Every first-timer gets a handwritten card that bring a human-first touch no automation can replicate.
12-Machine Cap: Small class sizes aren't a real estate limitation; they're what make personalized instruction possible at scale.
Why We Love It
Kylie Transki built Move Madly to be the studio she never quite found as a client. It’s a vision where the method is executed with rigor and the energy in the room doesn't leave the moment class ends. That vision has paid off. Move Madly isn’t capitalizing on a trendy modality; it’s figured out what a great Lagree experience looks like. It doesn’t require an extensive variety of classes or specialties: just one thing done incredibly well.
